In the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences (ACES) at the University of Illinois, we are tackling these challenges in order to create a better future for all. Student leadership, experiential learning programs, and research opportunities enhance classroom instruction. The College of ACES partners with Illinois industries to propel discoveries that boost the economy while providing experiential learning opportunities for students. Our faculty and staff are leading experts in their fields and are dedicated to the land-grant mission of the University of Illinois. The College of ACES has taken risks to expand the edges of scientific discovery and stretch the boundaries of education so we can continue to transform lives. Priorities
Leadership Development
Creating opportunities for students and youth to acquire essential life skills is key to developing career-ready graduates and productive adults contributing to the advancement of their professions and communities. Key areas of emphasis include 4-H, experiential learning, student research opportunities, and establishment of the ACES Leadership Academy.
Student Success
Private support for scholarships and graduate fellowships provide financial accessibility for the best and brightest students to study at the University of Illinois College of ACES.
Expanding Horizons
The College of ACES is a leader in discovery, translation, and transformation in a broad spectrum of topics impacting society. Infrastructure, faculty positions, and research support influence the college’s role in serving the people of Illinois and impacting economic development.
Beyond Campus
Educational programs and shared spaces benefit agricultural producers, business professionals, and the public. High priorities for funding are Extension programming, including 4-H; the University of Illinois Arboretum; and numerous multidisciplinary outreach efforts.
