ENSURE ACCESS TO NUTRITIOUS FOOD AND OTHER ESSENTIALS

The Illinois Student Food Pantry Fund helps ensure that the entire Illinois student community has access to nutritious food and key necessities in a welcoming and educational space. Located in the ARC Instructional Kitchen, the Food Pantry is staffed by student volunteers from Food Science Human Nutrition working closely with faculty to provide educational resources to pantry shoppers while developing their own community building skills. Rather than paying retail prices, our network of food banks works with major manufacturers, retailers, and farmers to secure healthy food. This means that when you donate a dollar, you’re able to put more meals on the tables of students than if you donated food you’d purchased at the store.

PROVIDE ACCESS TO THE STUDENTS THROUGHOUT OUR STATE

The economic effects of COVID-19 and recent circumstances related to racial inequities continue to shake our communities, and many of our Illinois families will be deeply impacted in the years to come. Part of our land grant mission is to provide Illinois residents with affordable access to our world-class university. Through the Illinois Commitment program, we will cover tuition and fees, for up to four years, for all qualified in-state students. Support flexible, pressing needs of Illinois students, including during the COVID-19 pandemic

During COVID-19 and previous challenging circumstances, the Emergency Dean Fund has been there to help when Illinois students face unexpected, unforeseen, and unavoidable emergency expenses. The Emergency Dean Fund was created in 2009 to provide immediate assistance for unanticipated hardships resulting from emergencies or crisis situations. The Emergency Dean Fund may be used to help students in their time of need, including travel, lodging, and meal accommodations for students displaced due to a crisis situation, and, in some cases, their families.
