School of Music honors Sheila Johnson

The College of Fine and Applied Arts celebrates the impact Sheila Johnson makes on Illinois with a weekend of activities.

Earlier this spring, the School of Music celebrated the Daniel J. Perrino Chair in Music with an investiture honoring Donald Schleicher, the recipient of the chair, and Sheila Johnson who endowed the chair. Sheila Johnson received her B.S. in music education in 1970.

The College of Fine and Applied Arts celebrated the impact Sheila Johnson makes on Illinois with a weekend of activities including dinner with Jim Moore, brunch at Chancellor Robert Jones’ home, and an investiture ceremony with a reception.

Sheila also received an honorary degree at the commencement and was the commencement speaker for the School of Music Convocation. This “Magical Moments” weekend was a collaborative effort among the University of Illinois Foundation, Office of the Vice Chancellor of Institutional Advancement, College of Fine and Applied Arts, School of Music, and Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
